MISSION STATEMENT
To provide a platform to help players develop to move up to the professional levels of soccer domestically and abroad. To be a positive impact on the city of Oakland by bringing change through community envolvement and sports diplomacy.
The Oakland Stompers objective is to bring professional soccer back to Oakland to give Oakland a sense of civic pride based around the beautiful game of soccer.
ABOUT US
Oakland Stompers is an American Soccer club based in Oakland, Calif. The Stompers are named after the Oakland Stompers who played in the North American Soccer League in 1978.
The Oakland Stompers are a current member of the UPSL (United Premier Soccer League) and compete in the Wild West Division.
This brand of Stompers started as a youth club in the East Bay in 1984. The youth club first team competed at the competitive levels of youth soccer all over Northern California. The Stompers also had a girls team named the Stompettes, and a the smaller kids were named the Lil' Stompers. The Stompers competed until the mid 90's when the youth team dispanned.
In 2008, the Stompers came back and started in a local East Bay adult league in 2009. The Stompers won 3 straight local league titles before moving up to a national level semi-professional platform. The club was established to move up the ranks of US Soccer professional system. The first step was to get in to a national level US 4th division league.
In, 2012 the Stompers had to relocate to San Francisco as there was already a team in the Oakland/East Bay Area. In 2016, the club relocated to the East Bay but still denied the opportunity to move back to Oakland. Finally after 10 years since the adult side has been formed, the Stompers return home to Oakland in the UPSL. The Oakland Stompers will to continue to climb the US Soccer ladder and bring professional soccer back to Oakland.
In addition, the Oakland Stompers participate in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup qualifying tournament through their affiliation and membership with the UPSL, U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
